Gary D. Herwitz

Managing Partner

Gary Herwitz is the founder and Managing Partner of CoMetrics Partners, where he specializes in providing strategic consulting services to middle market companies, principally in the consumer products sector. With over 30 years of consulting experience, Gary’s leadership of CoMetrics Partners has rapidly positioned the firm into an industry leader in developing growth strategies, streamlining business processes, and maximizing operating efficiencies. After graduating Beta Alpha Psi from Syracuse University, Gary began his consulting career with Mahoney Cohen & Company. His tenure as President from 1997 to 2005 contributed to the firm’s growth into one of the largest accounting and professional services firms in the United States, culminating with the firms sale to CBIZ Inc. (NYSE: CBZ).

Gary founded CoMetrics to provide clients with the strategic vision and leadership to integrate operations, technology, and finance to optimize business processes and maximize profitability. Spending significant time in China and East Asia has given Gary a unique perspective on the manufacturing, logistics, and supply chain needs of the global market. His experience implementing supply chain strategies and streamlined processes resulted in developing CoMetrics’ proprietary Supply Chain Management technology solution which was sold into a Joint Venture Company with a leading international logistics and cargo management provider.

CoMetrics Partners expertise across operations, technology and finance has driven the growth of the firms Turn-Around Management division with a reputation for delivering successful outcomes in difficult situations.  CoMetrics has become a strong resource in mergers and acquisitions providing operational and financial due diligence for Lenders, Private Equity and Distressed Debt Funds. CoMetrics provides post acquisition services including integration plans and milestone management as well as interim management.

In addition to his work with CoMetrics Partners, Gary frequently contributes his expertise in volunteer roles: He was the chairman of the Organization Rehabilitation Therapy (ORT) Finance Chapter and served on the Board of Big Brother/ Big Sister Finance Chapter. Gary served for ten years on the Syracuse University School of Management, Accounting Advisory Board. Gary currently is a Board member of the Exceed Network, a nonprofit business advisory firm that provides consulting and educational services for small business owners Gary also sits on the board of the Moret Group

Jack Shweky

Managing Director

Jack Shweky, Certified Public Accountant

Jack joined CoMetrics Partners in 2015 where he quickly demonstrated his skill set as a hands-on finance and operational driven manger. By leading CoMetrics data analytics team he is instrumental in developing the firm’s proprietary systems. Prior to joining CoMetrics, Jack was a senior manager in a professional services firm specializing in performing due diligence and collateral assessments for Tier One Banks and Asset Based Lenders.

Jack is a proud alumni of the University of Miami where he earned degrees in both Finance and Accounting.

In his spare time, Jack enjoys playing golf.

John Cuccurullo

Managing Director

John Cuccurullo, Certified Public Accountant

John has over 30 years of experience in finance, operations and accounting. Prior to joining CoMetrics, John was the Chief Financial Officer of large consumer product companies in the fashion and home décor industries. Previously John was with the New York office of KPMG LLP.

John earned his BS Degree in Accounting at Saint Francis College in Brooklyn, N.Y. and his MBA at Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois.

In his spare time John enjoys hiking and riding his Harley.

Jack Baron

Mr. Baron is a founding Partner of Crystal Ridge Partners, a private equity firm specializing in providing capital to middle market companies in the Eastern half of the United States. Jack formerly was a Partner of JP Morgan Partners where he was responsible for marketing, new business development and the management of certain portfolio investments. Previously, Jack held senior management positions in the investment Bank of JP Morgan predecessors, Manufactures Hanover Trust, Chemical Venture Partners and Chase Capital Partners. Jack holds a BS from Lehigh University (’79) and an MBA from Fordham University (’82), and is currently an executive in residence to the MBA program at Lehigh University.

Jack sits on the Board of Black Rock Capital Investment Corporation BKCC-NASDAQ, a Business Development Company specializing in investments in middle market companies, Big Rock Sports, a leading North American Distributor of Hunting, Fishing, Camping and Taxidermy Supplies and several not-for-profits.

Jack enjoys fishing and playing golf in his spare time.

Kirk Palmer

Mr. Palmer is the founder and CEO of Kirk Palmer & Associates, Inc. (KPA), one of the leading executive search firms specializing in multi-channel retail companies and the brands and products that sustain them. Founded in 1987, KPA has been recognized by Fairchild Publications as one of the industry’s Top 10 executive search firms. KPA conducts searches for CEOs, Presidents, Vice Presidents, and other senior executives, covering all functions within the industry it services.

Over the past 25 years, Mr. Palmer has become a well-recognized figure within the retail, related wholesale and investment communities. He has worked with over 100 companies on various search and consulting assignments, covering all facets of the industry. He is known for his insights and straightforward assessments on industry trends and talent issues. Mr. Palmer is sought after for advice and counsel by clients, candidates and investors and he is quoted regularly in both national and trade publications. Since 1987 Mr. Palmer has worked closely with senior management and has provided counsel on a wide variety of topics, including executive compensation, organization structure planning, definition and development of company culture and overall industry trends.

Prior to founding the firm in 1987, Mr. Palmer had a distinguished career in department and specialty store retailing. Upon graduation, he began his retail career in 1975 with May Department Stores in human resources. He continued his human resources career by joining Gimbel’s Department Stores in 1981 and subsequently The Limited, Inc. prior to founding Mr. Palmer & Associates, Inc. in August 1987.
